Increasingly used are maraging steels. It has both high mechanical values like martensitic steels and high corrosion resistance like austenitic steels. The symbol 17-4PH comes from 17% chromium and 4% nickel. It is a stainless steel that is at least as resistant to corrosion as 304 steel in most corrosive environments, with its high mechanical properties, and hardens with aging.
WHERE ARE MARTENSITIC STEELS USED?
Martensitic-austenitic stainless steels; Used in aerospace, medical, hand tools, chemical and food processing equipment and paper manufacturing equipment.
