CP4M material is a cold work tool steel alloyed with chromium, molybdenum, and vanadium, and it can be secondarily hardened. CP4M material exhibits high toughness, dimensional stability, and good weldability. It is rich in carbides. Compared to 1.2379 cold work steel, CP4M quality steel can achieve better hardenability towards its core. It serves as an excellent base material for nitriding, CVD, and PVD coatings. CP4M steel is typically delivered in a hardened condition.
